Information you provide:

• Account details: name, email address, and profile photo
• Pet profiles: pet name, breed, age, photos, and personality traits
• Messages you send through our in-app messaging system
• Playdate preferences, availability, and location (neighbourhood level only)
• Feedback, support requests, or communications you send us

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Usage data such as features accessed and session duration
• Crash reports and performance diagnostics
• Approximate location (if you grant permission) to show nearby playdates

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and pet profiles
• Match your pets with compatible playdate partners nearby
• Enable in-app messaging between matched users
• Send you notifications about playdate requests, messages, and app updates
• Improve the app's features, performance, and user experience
• Respond to your support requests and inquiries
• Ensure the safety and security of the platform
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Your personal contact details — including your phone number, email address, and home address — are never visible to other users. All communication happens through our in-app messaging system.

We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted third-party services that help us operate the app (e.g. cloud hosting, authentication). These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may only use your data to provide services to us.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before this occurs.

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Supabase for our backend infrastructure, which provides enterprise-grade security.

While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login credentials private.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data — including pet profiles, messages, and match history — will be permanently removed within 30 days.

You have the following rights over your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information at any time through your profile settings
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us
• Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to certain types of data processing

PawDates is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately at support@pawdates.app and we will delete the account promptly.

The app integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Sign-In — for authentication (Google Privacy Policy)
• Apple Sign-In — for authentication (Apple Privacy Policy)
• Supabase — for backend infrastructure and data storage (Supabase Privacy Policy)

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the app or by email if the changes are significant.

Your continued use of PawDates after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
